"Excellent Car and Driver - Contract terms/process not adhered to"

I had made my booking n-line and received a voucher confirming details of the payments - total, booking advance and balance due on completion. We had absolutely no complaint with the booking process, and were very happy to reveive a call from Mr Nataraj in Bangalore on arrival giving us details of care and driver. The car was in good condition and the driver, Mr Shekar was excellent in every way. However, while closing the account, I was asked to speak with Mr Nataraj. Mr Nataraj informed me that the hire period was for 8 days whereas the contract voucher clearly stated it was for 7 days. I was asked to pay for an extra day which was not as per contract. He also stated that the rate per day would be Rs 12 per km for the first day and then Rs 10.50 per km for the remaining seven days. The net effect was that I had to pay about Rs 500/- more than originally contracted. I accepted the new terms and settled the account. Your local person should not be allowed to change the agreed terms.
