Tarkarli is village and tourist place in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is situated in Sindhudurga district of the state and comes in Malavan Tahsil. Tarkarli is famous for it attractive beach and beautiful nature surrounding it. Long stretched white sand of the beach and Shuru trees lined along the shore of Arabian Sea fascinate the visitors. It is popular for Ramnavami celebration which is organized every year at Mapurush temple of the village. Fishing is the main economic activity of the village. Though it can be visited any time of the year, October to March is the best time to visit the place. If you are travelling by train get down at Kudal railway station. It is just 45 km away from Tarkarli. From Kudal you can take state run bus or other private vehicle to reach Tarkarli. Kudal is connected to other cities and towns of the state. Dabolin in Goa serves as the nearest airport to Tarkarli. The airport is well linked to other major cities of the country. There are many state run buses and other private vehicles like car and luxury buses available from Dabolin to Tarkarli.
