Sanchi centrally located in Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh state in India, is a site of many Historical Buddhist monuments. The Great Stupa of sanchi (commissioned by Emperor Ashoka) is very famous all over the world it the oldest stone structure in India (dated to 3Rd century). Sanchi is situated about 46 Kms North East of Bhopal the capital of Madhya Pradesh and 10 Kms from Vidisha and Besnagar.
