Samode, known for its historic monuments and buildings, is a town in the state of Rajasthan, India. Samode lies in the Shekhavati region of the state. Havelis and forts in Samode are popular ones and attract many tourists from all over the world. It comes under Jaipur district of the state. It is located near the beautiful Aravali mountain range. Samode palace and Samode garden are major tourist attraction in Samode. Samode palace was built by well-off Rawal family about 400 year ago. It now has been turned into heritage hotel. Some renovation work has been made to the palace. It is now one of most beautiful building in the region. The interior of the palace is in beautiful style of Rajasthani architecture. One can also see the amazing mirror works done in the palace. Sultan Mahal in the palace is a main part of it and it contains several pillars, Paintings and carvings on the walls. The fort of Sheoragarh is another place of interest in Samode. It is located near Samode Palace one needs to climb steep stone steps to reach the ruined fort. It is said that this is the place where the people used to come together to barricade themselves in the period wars. Samode Bag (Garden) is yet another place you can take some time out to visit. The garden is stretched over and area of 20 acres and is surrounded by 15 feet high wall. Many state run buses and other private vehicles connect Samode to Jaipur and other place of the state. It is just about 40 km away from Jaipur which serves as the nearest airbase to Samode. Jaipur airport is well connected by regular flights to other major cities of the country. Jaipur also serves as the nearest railhead to it and is well connected by several trains to many other cities and towns of the state and the country
