Nagpur is the winter capital of Maharashtra state of India, it is a centrally located city of India, in fact it is the geographical center of India and has a Zero mile stone as a marking for it. It is the biggest city of the Vidharba region. The North South and East West national highways pass through it marking it as the center of all the roads. Nagpur is known as Orange City all over India for it is the important trade center of Oranges in the country and known for its quality orange crops grown in the region. Nagpur hosts the headquqrters of Hindu organization RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sangha) and has a monument of neo Buddhist community, as Dr. Ambedkar had converted dalits into Buddhists at Diksha Bhoomi here. \\r\\nNagpur has almost extreme climates during all seasons. In summers the temperature raises up to more than 48 degrees. It Rains more than 1200 mm in the year. In winter the temperatures may drop up to less than 10 degrees at times. Nagpur is the biggest trading center of Central India. Though it has an Industrial zone, the industrial activity is and so brisk. Nagpur has three Thermal powered electricity projects, one is Koradi Thermal Power project, the other one is Kheparkheda project. The Asia\'s biggest Durgapur thermal power project is in adjoining Chandrapur district of Vidharba, which is accessed from Nagpur. Most of the major minning activity is carried out in Nagpur district or other adjoining area of vidharba region. As Nagpur is the most developed city of the region, it has major offices of all the companies related to mining and other allied activities. Nagpur has the headquarters of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), and National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC). Manganese Ore India limited (MOIL) and many such important companies have offices in Nagpur. Nagpur is the only noncapital city in India to have a Reserve Bank of India branch. Nagpur Railway station is very busy it has more than 150 important trains passing through it in a day in all four directions of the country. The first textile mill of the country Tata\'s Empress Mills was started here. \\r\\nNagpur has a big Air Force base with its Maintenance command head quarters here. Indian Army\'s Ordinance factory and its staff college are situated here. Adjoining Kamptee which is a suburb of Nagpur is the headquarter of guards regimental center and hosts a Guards training centre. National Civil Defense College is situated here and runs a Fire Engineering college offering Fire Engineering Degree, Master\'s Degree in Fire Engineering and diploma in Fire Engineering. The college being only one in Asia has students from many Asian countries. Nagpur has a very Busy Airport which operates many national as well as international flights. An international cargo hub is coming up at Nagpur which will give a massive boost to the economy here. For this A Multi-Modal international Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) is under development at Nagpur. A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for IT companies is also coming up in Nagpur.
