Lucknow is the capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. Located in the Awadh province it is a multicultural and creative center of North India. Traditionally known as The City of Nawabsor The Golden City of the East. The city is located at the banks of river Gomti. Currently Lucknow is a lively city of north India, rising as an industrialized, business and trading hub of the region. Locknow has a warm humid Subtropical climate. Other details: Though usage of Urdu language has considerably declined, the language spoken here is strikingly courteous and graceful, and is admirably noticed by the visitors. The classical Indian dance of Kathak has its origin here. The city is the home to pioneer eminent Gazal Singer Begam Akthar. Other eminent music stars like Nauahad Ali, Talat mehmood; Anup Jalota and Baba Sehgal belong to Lucknow. The city is also the birth place of famous English Pop star Cliff Richard.
